Choose the Best Way to Replace Your Teeth

Dental implants are by far the best way to replace missing teeth. You get a longer-lasting result, and implants help preserve tooth-supporting bone that naturally deteriorates when a tooth is lost. Loss of bone is one of the major hidden consequences of losing teeth.

Get a Permanent Solution With Dental Implants

Implants are a permanent tooth replacement that look and feel like natural teeth. Mini-implants aid in the stabilization of dentures. Both dentures and implants have a truly natural appearance.

The procedure is actually quite routine, and you only need local anesthesia in most cases. You will get a small, screw-shaped titanium post that replaces the root-part of your missing tooth.

On your second visit, a lifelike crown, custom-made for you, tops the tooth to match your existing natural teeth. Implants boast a documented success rate of over 95%, much higher than any other tooth-replacement option.

How Your Implants Work

During this minor surgical procedure, your dental implant will be inserted directly into your jawbone in the space vacated by the missing tooth. After a  healing process of a period of months, the final crown will be attached. The implant will fuse to the bone during this time.

Tooth Replacement Options Using Dental Implants

Implants can replace missing teeth in a variety of ways, including:

Dental Implants Replace One Tooth

We will insert a single implant into the bone to replace the root part of tour tooth. We will then apply a crown on top to simulate an actual tooth.

This treatment is best long-term investment for replacing a single missing tooth. Although the initial cost is slightly higher  than other options, over time, it is the most cost-effective solution. An implant feels just like the tooth that was there and it will never decay or need root canal treatment.

Dental Implants Replace Multiple Teeth

Implants provide an ideal replacement mechanism if you have more than one tooth missing. A series of implant teeth can act as supports for fixed bridgework.

If you are missing three teeth in a row, we will place two implants, one on either side of the affected gap, and then a crown in between that has no implant underneath. You will not need to use any of your remaining natural teeth as bridge supports. That may weaken them and make them more susceptible to decay.

Dental Implants Replace All Teeth

If you need dental implants to support an entire arch of upper or lower replacement teeth, these will be fixed into the mouth and never be removed. These new teeth can be supported by as few as four implants. If  your jawbone density and volume have deteriorated, you may need five to six implants to support a row of 10 to 12 teeth.

These dental implant replacements will protect your jawbone, should last a lifetime and will not slip.

Dental Implants Support Removable Dentures

Traditional dentures rest on the gums and put pressure on the underlying bone, accelerating bone loss so that the jaw shrinks and the dentures slip. This  particularly happens on the bottom. Implants make removable dentures more effective, comfortable and healthier to wear.

We can attach a removable denture on to your implants, transferring that pressure into the bone structure rather than the bone surface. This preserves the bone directly beneath them and prevents the dentures from slipping while you speak and eat.

Dental Implant Care and Maintenance

Poor oral hygiene or excessive biting forces can lead to an implant losing attachment to the bone and fail after it has successfully fused. Lack of regular cleaning or poor oral hygiene often leads to a destructive bacterial infection called peri-implantitis.

Regular professional cleanings, including flossing and brushing your teeth on a daily basis, can prevent this peri-implantitis. An insufficient number of implants to handle the forces generated by your bite or excessive biting forces can come from habitual clenching or grinding of your teeth. We will give you the correct number of implants so this does not happen.

To protect your implants, we recommend a night guard if you have a habit of grinding or clenching your teeth. Your implants are a long-term investment in your smile, your health and your well-being, so protect your investment.
